Thank you Canon so much for the thrill. Lets talk about what matters: This product is indeed compatible and fully operational on EOS-7D, I suppose also on EOS 5D Mark II:
1) the battery charges in Canon charger without a problem,
2) the battery shows the voltage level and remaining percent just like the original does,
3) the battery shows on the battery pack menu screen and allows to be registered in the camera, just as the original does.
And the price is right! In same cases the original L6 was so difficult to get, that some dealers wanted almost $200 for the Canon battery! Especially in such context this product is excellent news for Canon users, 7D and 5D Mark II alike. The product fits nicely, good finishing of the housing and the label. Highly recommended.
